SMM – Magnifying Bookmarks and Opticians

I’m Mike Apfelberg, Owner of CustomLogo Outfitters. We specialize in screen printing, embroidery, and promotional products. Here is the Sales Manager Minute I went over at my BNI Meeting today.

Are you, like me, finding your eye sight wasn’t what it once was? Do you, like me, still read REAL books? Millions and millions of us do, and we would all appreciate the gift of a bookmark, like this, which is also a reading magnifier. This is a great promotional item, because it is unique and useful. It is also relatively inexpensive and can even be legally mailed!

This would be a terrific promotional item for an optician looking to grow their business. They could put it in a targeted mailer, or give it away at a networking event. Their prospective customers would value the gift and remember them when the time comes.

Do you now the office manager or a doctor at Nashua Eye Associates? They have offices in Nashua, Hudson, and Milford and would be an excellent referral for this, as well as other creative promotional items to build their business and promote their brand.

We are CustomLogo Outfitters where the smart opticians go to Logo Up!

Annual CustomLogo Outfitters Logo Apparel Poll -- the results are in!

For the second year Educational Outfitters of NH / CustomLogo Outfitters of NH did a poll on LinkedIn about the effectiveness of logo apparel as a means of advertising as compared to other forms of advertising. Ok, I must admit that the poll is not statistically valid, if for no other reason than the fact that I'm asking 500 like-minded individuals for their opinion. That said, this year a remarkable 104 people took the time to respond and 24 even took the time to comment, so I think the results are, if nothing else, interesting and relavent. Here are the highlights:

Almost 59% consider logo apparel to be either very or extremely effective as compared to other forms of advertising!

Only 4% said "not too effective" or less.

.....and here is my favorite comment, from John Manelas of AutoCare Plus:
Nice time to ask, as Karen and I where conducting an interview at Panera Bread yesterday with a prospective new hire when a gentleman from the next table over came over to ask us about fixing his pickup truck because he noticed we both had logos on our shirts and coats and thought us to be very professional. We gave him a business card and he booked an appointment to come in next week. Always promoting your business in a professional manner makes a big impact on your prospective customers and wearing professional appearing logo-ed apparel seems like one of the easiest ways to do it.

By the way, would you like to know where John gets his apparel. Take a guess.... ok that was easy, of course it's CustomLogo Outfitters.

To see the full results as well as all 24 comments.....

LinkedIn Poll on Logo Apparale as an Advertising Medium....

I am running a quick little poll (very un-scientific, to be sure, but anecdotal and interesting nevertheless). The basic question is about the effectiveness of logo apparel as an advertising and/or brand building medium. Please take a minute to respond (and comment).

Cutting Vinyl and Twill

I've been playing around lately with my new "vinyl cutter." What is a vinyl cutter, you may ask? It's a device that very precisely cuts out shapes in materials that can then be heat applied or embroidery applied. Decorations to think about for this are things like names and numbers on athletic jerseys, tackle twill decorations for sweatshirts, and team-name screen-prints for flannel pants. Like so many things, the concept is easy, but the execution is difficult. Slowly but surely, however, I'm getting the hang of it and am pretty excited about the many new avenues of decoration this will allow us to offer our customers, in super-high-quality, reasonable prices, and quick turnaround. That's the name of the game, right? Let me know if you'd like to learn more about our vinyl cutter! Of course, you can always learn more by simply going to our website at www.EO-NE.com. As always, thanks for listening! Mike

Last test, I promise

As annoying as this is, at least it's in the middle of the night. You should be sleeping! Mike

Testing out "Networked Blogs"

Hopefully this doesn't annoy everybody, but I'm testing this out to make sure it posts properly. Sorry to be a bother! Mike

Wow, my first blog........

Hi! Congradulations, more to me than to you! I've entered a whole new world..... the so called blagosphere. I'm hoping occasionally to post something here which is interesting and perhaps even helpful.

Most likely, it will have something to do with things related to my business, which involves school uniforms, screen-printing and embroidery, promotional products, and scouting uniforms. All of these things are done in our retail store, Educational Outfitters, located in Nashua, New Hampshire.

We'll see, perhaps I'll surprise you (or me) and tell you something useful!

Mike
